R.S. Abrams & Co., LLP has the strength of its personnel and its diverse and prestigious clientele. We primarily serve School Districts, Not-For-Proft Groups, and State & Local Governments. Our firm has two offices in Suffolk and Westchester Counties. Our Suffolk County Office located on Express Drive North in Islandia and our Westchester County office is located on Main Street in White Plains. The firm was founded in 1934 and has grown steadily over the years.
Firm History
In 1934, during the grips of the Depression, the firm was established under the name of A.W. Oldehoff & Co., and later changed to R. S. Abrams & Co., LLP. The goal for the upstart company focused on school audits, accounting and taxation services in the Long Island area. Over the next decades, R.S. Abrams & Co., LLP increased their scope of services and also expanded to the surrounding areas and grew in size. This included creating new departments that focused on specialized services such as school districts, local government and not-for-profit internal and external audits. All key professionals are licensed to practice in the State of New York and are active members of professional accounting societies. All staff members have taken the proper amount of continuing education classes primarily in the area of governmental accounting and auditing as required by Government Auditing Standards (1994 revision), the New York State Education Department and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
